I'm not quite sure how to address this past week against the Ballhawks. I was under the impression that there would be more in atttendance for last night's game. There's a few people on this team that have indicated to me that they were interested in playing football for Mayhem, while their attendance does not. These folks have now shown me, by missing the first two weeks that they're not. That's fine. I can fill the slots, I just wish I'd been informed earlier. I don't want people to think that I'm coming down on you for absences that you told me about. I understand that there were people out of town and there were people sick. Thank you for giving me a heads up, that's all that I ask you to do. If you can let me know ahead of time that you'll not be at a game, that helps me prepare for it.
As for how the game went down last night. There's not much I can say about it except that the guys that were in attendance busted their asses, some in unfamiliar territory, and played to the best of your abilities. I am glad that you all came out and worked hard in our quest to become 3-0 against the Ballhawks. It didn't pan out that way, but there were nine guys last night that showed some heart. Obviously, with the guys that have flaked with me, I will be replacing their spots. I hope to have a full team again, with assigned positions when we come off our bye week in two weeks. Thank you again to everyone that played hard Sunday night.
I need to bring up another point. I covered our team fees with my own money this Spring. I did this with the full faith that my teammates would pay me back the $20 a player that I requested. There has only been a small handful of players that have paid me this fee. This $20 is in addition to the South Suburban player fees of $24, as I had indicated to you all throughout the Winter season. This $20 figure still leaves me covering a portion of the fees, which I consider a pretty fucking generous thing to do. Please do not take me for granted. Get me the money that you owe me or I have no problem asking you not to play.
Everyone, enjoy the week off this week, as we have a bye week. We do not play a game this week, but I am going to again attempt to wrangle everyone together for a practice. Our next game will be March 7, at 10:00 PM. I'll be in touch this week.
