Well, we're two weeks into the South Suburban league and we're 0-2. Not bad, considering we've played what I believe are the two best teams in the league. The most recent game this past Sunday against the Rockers went well. We were able to move the ball downfield and keep up somewhat with them. Some things that we can do better are to communicate on defense. Our defense was out of sorts in the cover 3, so we need to make sure that everyone is on the same page there as to their responsibilities. Another issue that needs to be addressed is that everyone needs to run the routes assigned to them. I know that sometimes we get knocked off our patterns, which is inevitable, but aside from that, if you're instructed to run something, run it. Our QB is putting these routes together to set up plays later on in the game. If it is not set up correctly, the gameplan is screwed up. Just try to stick to the routes please. All in all, I think we're doing well in this competitive league. Let's keep up the good, hard work and let's see if we can beat the Water Boys this week.

Foothills Tournament Postponed to This Sunday! Bring $5! Winter League Also Starts This Sunday!11/2/2009 Just dropping a little note to remind everyone that the Foothills tournament has been postponed until Sunday morning, beginning at 9 AM. Our winter league begins the same day, but at 9:15 PM at the Sports Dome in Centennial. To those who are joining us in the tournament, don't forget to bring $5. I'm not paying for everyone's entry .To everyone who is playing winter ball with us please have $26 cash or check payable to Mayhem for me on Sunday, as well as be prepared to pay between $12-$24 to South Suburban, depending upon your residency status. I am looking very forward to getting this winter league going. We're going to start playing some very good teams this winter. I think it will only help us get better. I know that we'll be able to hold our own against this league. We're a good team, we just need to get used to each other.
****We were able to secure a partial sponsor for our upcoming winter league. The Famous Door in Aurora has been so kind as to cover a portion of our league fees. What that means to you guys is you will be responsible for paying the player fees to South Suburban when you check in for the first game. Those fees are $24 for out of district players, and $12 if you have a district ID. The remainder of the league fees will need to be paid to me. They will include an additional $26, for which I will take cash or checks payable to Mayhem. Get that to me as soon as possible if you plan on joining us for winter ball.**** |
